I could tell you all about Nourish and their inspiring mission, but instead I’ll share the brand story I wrote for them.

Brand Story

Food is fundamental to health and healing. So why is hospital food so famously, well, lacking? Nourish is here to transform the way healthcare systems approach food. That means changing not only what’s on the menu, but the way we think about food itself — including how, where and by whom it’s grown, and how it impacts everyone and everything from patients to planet. 


We’ve worked with hospitals and health authorities across Canada. By shifting their mindsets around food and its role in patient care, our partners have implemented changes that have drastically reduced food waste, increased the purchase of locally and sustainably produced ingredients, and lowered greenhouse gas emissions. They’ve honoured sacred cultural traditions, including Indigenous foodways. And they’ve repositioned food as an essential means of providing comfort and care [when people need it most].


After all, food is much more than sustenance. It’s culture and connection. And it’s a powerful way of showing we care. That’s why Nourish believes food should be at the very heart of healthcare. We’re on a mission to make the food served in Canadian healthcare environments better — not just for the well-being of patients and their families, but for the dedicated people caring for them; for local growers and producers; for communities, and for the planet we all share.
