charity: water is a humanitarian organization on a mission to end the world water crisis. So far, they’ve brought sustainable clean water to over 20 million people (and counting!). In 2013, I did my master’s research on their approach to storytelling — and ten years later they hired me to help tell their stories. Kismet! In 11+ months (and counting!) collaborating with their team, I’ve done a whole lot of writing. Here are a few samples I’m proud of.

If we lost you at ‘charity’, we get it. Give us a moment to change your mind?
At charity: water, we’re known for telling great stories, but we’re big believers in numbers too.
Like this one: 703 million. That’s how many people worldwide currently live without access to clean, safe drinking water.
As a result, 4,400 lives will be lost today.
And again tomorrow.
And the day after that.
It’s a big problem — massive, really — but we know we can solve it.
To do that we need to make every penny count.
Which means when you donate $1, exactly $1 goes to water projects where they’re needed most.
Not 83 cents on the dollar, not even 99 cents.
The whole dollar.
No fine print. No hidden fees.
A group of private donors generously covers our operating costs, which means we can proudly promise that every penny of every donation goes here … or here … or here …
We’re obsessive about our 100% promise, and have been from the start.
But we don’t just say it.
